Borussia Monchengladbach defender Ginter flopped at Dortmund but Premier League challengers Spurs are still willing to give him a chance.

The prospect of moving to Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season should appeal to Matthias Ginter. Because he is more than deserving of a second chance at the top level of European football.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs have identified the 25-year-old as a potential replacement for Toby Alderweireld at the end of the season with Ginter having impressed for a high-flying Borussia Monchengladbach side in the Bundesliga this season.
With all due respect to Gladbach, however, they are not an established domestic powerhouse who are expected to challenge at the top of the table every season. Spurs, regardless of their ongoing trophy drought, very much are.
And, after failing during a spell at Borussia Dortmund, the youngest member of Germany’s 2014 World Cup winning squad should jump at the chance to prove himself at another Champions League regular.

Ginter moved to Dortmund from Freiburg for £9 million five years ago (ESPN) but never established himself in the famous yellow and black kit. By the time he left in 2017, he had developed an unhelpful reputation for ill-timed errors and a lack of concentration.
He simply didn’t look cut out for a club of Dortmund’s size and expectation. But an excellent season at Gladbach has reminded avid watchers of German football why he was so highly rated in the first place.
A spell at Tottenham is exactly what Ginter needs to silence those doubters once and for all.
