The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has made a post on Twitter saying that Wolverhampton Wanderers have been looking at potential replacements for Bruno Lage for some time.
The well-known and well-respected journalist Ornstein has claimed that Premier League club Wolves have sacked Lage as their manager.
A number of other media outlets, including The Telegraph, are also reporting that the Portuguese boss has been dismissed from his role at Wolves.
This follows a run of poor results in the Premier League this season.
Wolves are third from bottom in the league table at the moment with six points from eight matches.
The Wanderers are level on points with 17th-placed Crystal Palace, who have played seven matches.

Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly sack Bruno Lage
Encouraging for Wolves fans
In our view, if Wolverhampton Wanderers have been looking at potential replacements for Bruno Lage for a while, then it is very encouraging.
It means that the Wolves owners did not make a decision to sack Lage ‘on the spot’.
They clearly knew for some time that things with Lage may not work and were already looking at potential successors.
Now, of course, we do not expect Wolves to make a managerial appointment right now, but that they already have things playing out in the background means that the Wanderers fans will not have to wait for long before a new manager is announced.
