Steven Gerrard’s Rangers may not be done adding players.

Over the weekend the Light Blues have been linked with two exciting pre-contract deals for talented attackers Josh Maja and Nick Powell.

The Scottish Sun report Rangers want to sign the Wigan ace, and The Sunday People (print edition 20/1 p49) reports their interest in Sunderland’s Josh Maja.

Both players have been linked with moves to Rangers’ bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Moves for the duo would instantly make Rangers the best team in Scotland heading into the 2019/20 season.

Rangers already have Glen Kamara and Jordan Jones tied up to sign in the summer after agreeing pre-contract deals.

Both Maja and Powell’s contracts are expiring, allowing two players worth upwards of £5 million to leave their clubs on free transfers.

Competition is strong for both players, with English Premier League sides especially keen on Maja.

Sunderland striker Maja has scored 15 goals already this season, while attacking midfielder Powell has scored four times and provided four assists.

Even just adding one would be a major coup.

Together they would instantly make Rangers the most exciting team in Scotland to watch and potentially favourites for the 2019/20 title before a ball has even been kicked.
