Leeds United have their biggest game of the season tomorrow.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side visit Brentford on the back of a morale-sapping defeat by 10-man Wigan at Elland Road on Good Friday.
The result saw Leeds drop out of the automatic promotion spots with only three games left, but victory at Griffin Park could see the Whites move back into second if Sheffield United slip up away to Hull City.
It’s a massive game and with that in mind, Bielsa’s team selection needs to be spot-on.
Jack Harrison, who earns £51,000 per week at parent club Manchester City [Spotrac], came in for criticism from Leeds fans after his display against the Latics.
Jack Clarke hasn’t looked his usual self since a health scare in February, but he showed promising signs during a 15-minute cameo on Friday and maybe he is the better option to start on the left wing versus the Bees.
And then there’s Patrick Bamford who, despite opening the scoring for United against Wigan, didn’t have a good game.
Neither did Kemar Roofe, but the 26-year-old, a £3 million signing in 2016 [Yorkshire Post], is fully fit now after a two-month absence.
Roofe also missed a sitter on Friday, so he could and certainly should be hungry to make amends tomorrow. Here’s how Leeds could line up:
