Jamie O’Hara told talkSPORT (23/08/21 at 7:25 am) that Arsenal should have signed Danny Ings after his ‘possible goal of the season’ contender for Aston Villa.
The 29-year-old made the surprise move to Villa Park this summer, with the Midlands outfit paying Southampton £25 million for his services, as reported by BBC Sport.
Ings has scored two from two since his Villa move, including a stunning overhead kick on his home debut as Dean Smith’s men beat Newcastle 2-0 on Saturday.
But O’Hara suggested that Arsenal have made a mistake by not signing the England international, as he commented on that goal from the weekend.
“It was a great goal,” said O’Hara. “It was up there. Possible goal of the season already.
“Great goal. Great signing. Very good player. I just look at Danny Ings and think ‘why hasn’t an Arsenal not come in for you?'”
Arsenal fan Laura Woods responded by saying: “Stop doing this. We have done our Arsenal chat already.
“I know, you look at Danny Ings and Tammy Abraham, those kinds of players that were available. Those strikers who are going to get you goals. And you are thinking ‘why haven’t you gone in?'”

Given Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s form last season, it’s probably safe to say that Ings would walk into Arsenal’s XI.
And it wouldn’t be a surprise if he outscores the likes of Alexandre Lacaette and Aubameyang this season.
The above duo, because of COVID, haven’t really been able to get going yet, but Ings already has two in two.
And come the weekend, he will be hoping to add another goal to his name against Brentford.
