West Ham are hoping to sign Barcelona’s Andre Gomes
West Ham’s hopes of signing midfielder Andre Gomes may have been given a helping hand last night as he was left out of Barcelona’s starting line up.

Barcelona beat Real Betis in their first La Liga game of the season, winning comfortably.
Gomes was left out for the second successive game by new coach Ernesto Valverde.

The La Liga giants signed the Portugal international for £42 million last summer but he failed to establish himself in Barcelona’s first choice XI.
He made only 17 La Liga starts last season and this campaign has evidently not got off to a great start for him either, having also been left out of the second leg of the Super Copa defeat to Real Madrid.
A move by West Ham remains ambitious, but they might feel slightly more confident about signing the Euro 2016 winner after he was snubbed once again last night.
