According to a report from French publication L’Equipe, Liverpool have been joined by Bayern Munich in the race to sign Lyon ace Nabil Fekir.
The Reds have already been heavily active during this summer’s transfer window, signing midfield duo Fabinho and Naby Keita, and Jürgen Klopp seems to be far from finished with his business.
According to a report from the Mirror, Fekir has gone as far as telling Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas that he wants to join Liverpool, with a potential £50 million move being mooted.
The Merseyside outfit’s path to signing the France international appears to have been made slightly more problematic, however, with L’Equipe reporting that Bavarian giants Bayern Munich have entered the race.
Bayern obviously have a massive pull within the game, but so do Liverpool, and the highly competitive nature of the Premier League could very well be enough to tip the scales in the Reds’ favour.
The 24-year-old Lyon ace was in sensational form this season, racking up 23 goals and eight assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.
He will surely prove to be a sensational signing for whichever club wins the race for his signature, but quite where he will be plying his trade next season remains to be seen.
