Everton and West Ham United have both been dealt potential blows by the apparent preliminary Argentina Olympic squad, as it looks as though both teams will be missing key players for the start of the season as a consequence.
Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori and West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini are on a list currently doing the rounds on Twitter – along with the likes of Villarreal’s Mateo Musacchio, Atletico Madrid’s Matias Kranevitter and in demand striker Jonathan Calleri.
Of course this is just a preliminary list of 35 players, which will be shortened to 23 for the competition in Brazil this summer, but both Premier League players are expected to be named in the final list considering their status in the Argentine set-up and Premier League form.
Borini and Funes Mori
The Olympic football tournament is set to run from the 4th August until the 20th August and considering Argentina have won the gold medal on their last two Olympics appearances they will be hoping to be in Brazil for some time – meaning Everton and West Ham could be without two key players for the start of the new season.

Funes Mori has 13 caps for the senior international side and would be entering the tournament as an overage player. Lanzini has four under-20 caps and would be included as an under-23.
