Bournemouth supporters on Twitter provided mixed views to Josh King’s performance on Saturday amid links with West Ham and Aston Villa.

King started for Bournemouth yesterday as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Luton – the versatile attacker was subbed off in the second half.

The Sun have recently claimed that Aston Villa are competing with other Premier League clubs, including the likes of Everton and West Ham for his signature.

The January transfer window could be a troublesome time for some clubs because it could result in their players being distracted by speculation.

A selection of Bournemouth fans felt that the reported Aston Villa and West Ham target put in a strong display and questioned why he was subbed.

But others did question whether he is thinking about other things given those rumours.

The January transfer window has been a quiet one, thus far, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if it picks up during the final days.

King will be hoping to get that knock on the door, but until then, he has to wait as Bournemouth fans reacted to his performance yesterday:

@hithisiswes: “Either Josh King wasn’t trying or he’s just cr**. Either way, he’s not exactly putting himself in the shop window. afcb.”
