Dion Dublin has told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (24/10/20 at 1:25 pm) that Everton’s ‘best signing’ has been Carlo Ancelotti.
Everton celebrated a pretty healthy summer transfer window, with the brains behind it all, Ancelotti, joining the Merseyside club last December.
There were a number of mixed results and performances from the Italian, but as soon as he got his feet under the table this summer, his team are now beginning to talk in his language – putting aside today’s defeat to Southampton.
And it’s raising eyebrows as to whether something special can happen this season.
Former Premier League striker, Dublin labelled Ancelotti as ‘world-class’ and believes it’s those qualities that have helped him attract such top-quality players this summer.
“The manager is going to be able to attract good players because he is a world-class manager,” Dublin told Sky Sports.
“I think it’s possibly the best signing, the manager.”

Whilst James Rodriguez’s name stands above all those on the blue half of Merseyside this summer, he perhaps won’t turn out to be their best purchase.
Someone like Allan might prove to be that underrated figure in the middle of the park and someone who sweeps everything in front of him, whilst the more attack-minded players thrive.
Everton weren’t able to showcase that today because they were outdone by an in-form, well-balanced and clinical Southampton side.
But the key thing is that the Toffees are still on top.
