HITC Sport takes a speculative look at how West Bromwich Albion might line up after the January transfer window closes.
With the January transfer window now open for business, West Bromwich Albion are unsurprisingly looking to strengthen their side this month, as they look to improve upon their impressive form this season. Needing to improve their attacking and defensive options, the Baggies have been linked with a number of players over the last few weeks, and so HITC Sport has decided to take a look at what West Brom’s starting XI might look like at the end of the window.
The New Signings
According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, West Bromwich Albion are still very much interested in bringing in Leicester City wing-back, Jeffery Schlupp. Ghanaian international Schlupp, who played a pivotal part in Leicester’s incredible Premier League campaign, appears to have fallen out of favour King Power stadium, and could make the move to the Hawthorns this January.

Reports in The Sun have also linked West Brom with a stunning move for Sporting Lisbon star, William Carvalho. The Portuguese midfielder, who played a major part in his country’s victory at the European Championships, is reported to be the subject of a £26 million bid from the Baggies, who are looking for a new defensive midfielder to come in for Claudio Yacob. This would be a shock move, but a sensational one.

Perhaps West Brom’s most exciting link in this transfer window has been that to Italian forward, Manolo Gabbiadini, according to Sky Sports in Italy. The 25-year-old has scored four goals in 18 appearances this season and was on target in Napoli’s recent 2-1 win over Sampdoria. Bringing flair and attacking prowess, Gabbiadini would be an exciting addition to Pulis’ side, and would likely light up the Hawthorns with his talent.
