Jurgen Klopp has certainly strengthened his attacking midfield resources this summer.
Georginio Wijnaldum celebrates scoring four goals against Norwich
With Liverpool set to complete a £25 million deal for Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, according to Sky Sports, it is worth considering which players Jurgen Klopp may select as his first choice eleven next season.
Below is a possible side that the Reds boss may go with in important matches, notwithstanding tactical adjustments of course:
Liverpool’s signing of goalkeeper Loris Karius is a smart piece of business. He was one of the best stoppers in the Bundesliga last season, and may be given the number one journey ahead of Simon Mignolet this season.
In defence, Joel Matip is another excellent deal on a free transfer, with the Cameroon international also impressing during his time in Germany. He may well start in the centre of defence alongside Mamadou Sakho or Dejan Lovren.

Assuming that Daniel Sturridge is fit, he is surely set to start up front, but it is in midfield where things will start to get complicated for Klopp.
Philippe Coutinho is the one midfielder certain to start, but the four remaining positions may see plenty of rotation. Central midfield will see Emre Can and skipper Jordan Henderson competing with James Milner, while the number ten role and second wide spot has some seriously expensive players vying for positions. Two players at the club last season, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino, will be competing with new-boys Sadio Mane and Wijnaldum, and it may be the case that there are high profile names waiting to make a difference from the bench.
