In an interesting piece of potential Liverpool team news, Jurgen Klopp has admitted that it is ‘possible’ Fabio Carvalho wins a full debut this afternoon.

The Reds are gearing up to welcome Bournemouth to Anfield in what is a must-win contest for Klopp’s side.

Liverpool have drawn two and lost one of their first three Premier League games thus far.

Losing to the Cherries and Manchester City winning at home to Crystal Palace today would see the Merseysiders fall eight points behind Pep Guardiola’s side, highlighting the importance of a victory.

One of Liverpool’s brighter players from the 2-1 defeat by Manchester United last Monday was Carvalho, who impressed off the bench.

The 19-year-old has been given cameo appearances in all four of the Reds’ games this season – including the Community Shield – and Klopp has told the club’s official website that he may start against Scott Parker’s troops today.

He said: “Of course, it would be possible. The problem is a little bit [that] Fabio is the one player who can play in midfield and up front and how can we change? Stuff like this.

“It’s really good. It’s very positive all the things we saw from him, he’s a great boy, [a] really top-class boy, well-educated, in the middle of the group, cheeky as well – all these kinds of things.”

Liverpool spent only £7.7 million on signing Carvalho – praised by Paul Scholes this week – during the summer and already it looks like it could prove an enormous bargain.

However, Klopp, who has injury worries in midfield, is right in saying that he’s conflicted because with Diogo Jota absent and Darwin Nunez suspended, he also a shortage of options in the forward line.
