Speaking on his Twitch channel, Fabrice Muamba has been speaking about Anthony Martial and a potential move to Newcastle.
A new era is dawning at both Manchester United and Newcastle, and things will change very quickly at both clubs.
United want to refresh things and head in a different direction, while Newcastle have plenty of money to spend to improve their struggling squad.
With both of those things in mind, Muamba has been speaking about the prospect of Martial heading to Old Trafford.
What’s been said about Martial?
Muamba spoke Martial while dissecting Man United’s win against Crystal Palace.
“Martial for Newcastle United? Maybe, I feel like this manager (Rangnick) wants to promote young players, so if United can get £20m or £30m for Martial, that would be good business, that would be all-around good business,” Muamba said.
“Martial for Newcastle, that is a possibility, he could be linked to Newcastle. Does he want to go to Newcastle, that is a question you have to ask him, but in the January window you’ll see them linked with a lot of players.”
Smart move
This would be a very smart move from both clubs.
It looks like Manchester United have no use for Martial right now. After all, he’s started just two Premier League games this season, while Newcastle need more talent in their ranks.
Martial may not have been brilliant lately, but let’s not forget that this is a very talented attacker. After all, he did score 23 goals in the 2019/20 season.
He’s a France international and he was so highly thought of at one point that he even had a Ballon d’Or clause inserted into his contract when Monaco sold him to Man Utd, a clause that has since expired.
Whether or not this move comes to fruition remains to be seen, but there are worse options out there for the Magpies, that’s for sure.
