Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luke Amos is on loan at QPR

Luke Amos #40 of Tottenham Hotspur in action against AC Milan during the International Champions Cup 2018 at U.S. Bank Stadium on July 31, 2018 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

After injuring his cruciate knee ligaments a year ago, the last thing Tottenham Hotspur talent Luke Amos needed was another injury.

Amos was on the cusp of the first team, now he is out on loan at QPR looking to rebuild his career.

He has four appearances to his name already, but last night he was substituted after 31 minutes after pulling up with an injury.

Fortunately manager Mark Warburton believes Amos’ injury is not serious.

He told West London Sport that Amos injured his hamstring. He said: “We’ll see how he is. We’ll assess him. He felt some tightening, so we’ll be careful.

“I hope very much (he’ll be OK). We’ll assess him in the morning and see how he is.”

The importance of Amos’ start at QPR has been as much about finding his fitness and adjusting to the rigours of Championship football as it has been to hit form.

That will come later, but for now he needs to stay fit. Hopefully this will not be an injury which derails his progress for long.

After his lengthy spell on the sidelines last season, this recovery will seem easy.
