Curtis was lacklustre as Pompey were beaten by the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.

A number of Portsmouth fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ronan Curtis’s performance in the 2-1 loss against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in League One’s early kickoff on Saturday.
The 23-year-old winger put in a lacklustre display against Jack Ross’ side as Pompey let a one-goal lead slip to the Black Cats, Marcus Harness’s 22nd-minute effort cancelled out by Jordan Willis and Chris Maguire goals.
Portsmouth pushed an equaliser in the second half, but the closest they came was when Grant Leadbitter nearly headed past his own goalkeeper with 10 minutes to go, Jon McLaughlin producing a fine reaction save to keep him out.
In the end, Kenny Jackett’s charges could not come back against a side they were facing for a sixth time in under a year, and slipped to a second defeat in three games in what has been a tricky start in their push for promotion.
Curtis began his Portsmouth career with a bang as he went on to register 13 goals and 16 assists in his debut season in England (Derry Journal), but his inconsistency has come under scrutiny by the Pompey fanbase in recent times and on Saturday it was no different.
Here is some of the reaction to Curtis’s display from the Fratton Park faithful on social media:
