Aston Villa youngster Andre Green made his league debut for Portsmouth this weekend.

Aston Villa youngster Andre Green came in for some criticism from a section of the Portsmouth fans after making his League One debut for high-flyers in their 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury on Saturday.
Green looked destined to spend the season around the first-team at Villa Park. Some inspired pre-season performances and goals hinted that he was going to find himself in Steve Bruce’s plans.
But after the Villans significantly strengthened their wide options in the final weeks of the summer, Green was allowed to head to Fratton Park for the rest of the campaign.
The starlet boasts an enormous amount of potential, but it appears that he has step up his game considerably over the coming months if he hopes to improve his prospects at Villa Park when he does return.

Kenny Jackett took Green off at half-time during their game with the Shrews. And while some supporters appeared to be confused by the decision, others felt that Jackett had made the right call.
Some felt that Green was having little impact on the game and will need to improve to hold down a spot in the team while he is playing for Pompey.
