Iker Casillas was unable to prevent Liverpool winning the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash 2-0 at Anfield.

Iker Casillas has admitted that Liverpool produced an impressive performance in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Porto on Tuesday night, speaking to O Jogo.
The Reds already appear to have at least one foot in the last four after a deserved 2-0 win at Anfield. Naby Keita scored the opener, his deflected strike flying past a stranded Casillas after just four minutes, before Roberto Firmino sealed the win later in the first half at the end of a typically flowing move from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
And Casillas, who has made more Champions League appearances than any player in the history of the competition, paid tribute to Liverpool after the game but points out that the result could have been different if the luck had been on Porto’s side.
“The feeling is bad because we started well. But in Liverpool’s first attack we had the misfortune of having the ball deflect in the goal,” said the 37-year-old former Real Madrid goalkeeper, discussing Keita’s lucky opener.
“Then they scored the second after a good move and they were more relaxed.

“We were not able to score, which would have been a handicap for them in the second leg. We reacted well but we faced a very strong Liverpool.”
Liverpool will be watching tonight’s stellar clash between Barcelona and bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford with interest, given that the Merseyside giants are likely to play against the winner of Wednesday night’s game in the semi-finals.
Though a Porto side who stunned Roma when coming from behind in the round of 16 cannot be taken lightly.
