HITC Sport understands Wolves reject bid from Bristol City for Joe Mason.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have rejected a bid from Championship rivals Joe Mason, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Bristol City are in the market for a new striker before the close of the transfer window after selling Jonathan Kodjia to Aston Villa earlier this week.
The Robins have plenty of money to spend from the sale of Kodjia and they have tested Wolves’ resolve to hang onto Mason by tabling a £5million bid for the former Cardiff man.

However, Wolves have turned down the offer as they look to keep hold of the striker as they aim to challenge for promotion to the Premier League this season.
Mason joined Wolves from Cardiff last January and he initially struggled upon his arrival at Molineux, scoring just three goals last season.
Mason has started this season in better form and has scored two goals in six appearances to help Wolves enjoy a decent start to the new campaign.
It remains to be seen if Bristol City come back with an improved offer for Mason before the transfer window slams shut tonight.
