Wigan Athletic midfielder Tim Chow has agreed a move to Scottish Premiership side Ross County, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Chow looked to be on his way out of Wigan last summer before signing a new deal and breaking into the first-team under Gary Caldwell.

The 22-year-old made 13 appearances in all competitions for Wigan last season as they secured promotion from League One, but he found first-team opportunities limited this season in the Championship.

Chow has only featured in a late cameo in the win over Blackburn in the Championship, while he started the EFL League Cup defeat to Oldham Athletic.

With Chow well down the pecking order at the DW Stadium Latics boss Gary Caldwell is willing to let the midfielder move on in search of regular first-team football.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in Chow, but Ross County have moved quickly to secure the versatile midfielder.

Ross County enjoyed a successful campaign last term, winning the League Cup and finishing in sixth spot in the Premiership and the Staggies are hoping to repeat that top six finish.

Chow has agreed a two-year deal with the Dingwall club and he is expected to seal his move to Scotland in the next 24 hours.
