West Bromwich Albion winger Callum McManaman is being lined up for a move to Sunderland, HITC Sport understands from sources close to club.

McManaman is out of favour at West Brom as he does not figure in Tony Pulis’ plans going forward at the Hawthorns.

The former Wigan man joined West Brom in January 2015 and has made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League club, but he has not figured for the Baggies since April 2016.

McManaman has been exiled from the first-team fold for the last 18 months and the club have been searching for new employers for the Liverpool-born midfielder for some time.

McManaman spent the second half of last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, but failed to make an impact as he only started two Championship games during his time at Hillsborough.

The 26-year-old is in the final year of his contract at the Hawthorns and West Brom are ready to part of company with the winger.

Sunderland are now ready to offer McManaman an escape route out of West Brom by taking the player to the Stadium of Light.

Black Cats boss Simon Grayson is keen to bolster his squad after an indifferent start to the season and he feels McManaman could be a valuable addition to his squad.
