Lille have made an offer for Watford and West Bromwich Albion target Kara Mbodji of Anderlecht, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Mbodji is expected to leave Anderlecht this summer after coming close to joining Leicester City during the January transfer window.

The Senegal international, who impressed against Manchester United in the Europa League last season, is keen to move to the Premier League and Watford and West Brom are both exploring moves for the 27-year-old.

Mbodji joined Anderlecht in 2015 from Genk and he has impressed in the last two seasons with scouts from across Europe’s top leagues keeping tabs on him.

Watford and West Brom are both looking to strengthen their central defences this summer and Mbodji is thought to figure highly on their wanted lists.

However, they now risk missing out on the powerful defender with Ligue 1 outfit Lille making a bid to Anderlecht for his services.

Lille are keen to land Mbodji as they look to bolster their squad for next season and it remains to be seen if the Senegal star’s Premier League suitors firm up their interest with bids to rival Lille.
