Zak Jules in action for Macclesfield Town
Walsall have had a bid accepted by Macceslfield for highly-rated defender Zak Jules, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Jules impressed last season at Macclesfield, playing a key role in the club’s successful survival fight in League Two.
The 22-year-old only joined Macclesfield last January after leaving Shrewsbury, but he established himself as an instrumental figure in Sol Campbell’s side.
Jules’ performances alerted a number of Championship and League One clubs, but Walsall have moved quickly to agree a deal to sign the Scotland Under-21 international.

Walsall are set to offer Jules a two-year deal to make the move to Banks’s Stadium, as new boss Darrell Clarke looks to build a squad capable of winning promotion back to League One at the first time of asking.
Jules began his career at Reading, but never made a first-team appearance for the Royals and had spells at Motherwell, Shrewsbury, Chesterfield, Port Vale and Barnet before moving to Macclesfield.
Losing Jules will come as a big blow for Campbell as he aims to build on his success from last season.
