HITC Sport understands Wales are considering a call-up for Preston goalkeeper.

Preston North End goalkeeper Chris Maxwell is in line for a call-up to the senior Wales squad, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club
Maxwell, who has represented Wales at every level from under-17 to under-21, has impressed Chris Coleman and his coaching staff after starring for Preston in recent weeks.
The 26-year-old has started the last seven Championship games after dislodging Anders Lindegaard as number one ‘keeper and he has helped Preston to go an unbeaten six-match run since coming into the team before losing to league leaders Newcastle United at the weekend.

Maxwell has kept three clean sheets in his seven Championship games, including a penalty save from Ross McCormack in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa at the start of October.
Maxwell joined Preston in the summer after four seasons at Fleetwood and the athletic shot-stopper is regarded as one of the most promising goalkeepers outside the Premier League.
The former Wrexham man is a modern-day goalkeeper as he is comfortable with the ball at his feet and is noted for his distribution skills.

Chris Coleman is assessing his goalkeeping options as current No.1 ‘keeper Wayne Hennessey has lost his place in the Crystal Palace side to Steve Mandanda this season.
