HITC Sport understands Fleetwood midfielder Diagouraga is set to join Swindon.
Toumani Diagouraga in action for Fleetwood Town
Swindon Town are closing in on the signing of Fleetwood Town’s Toumani Diagouraga, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Diagouraga has been told he is free to leave Fleetwood this summer as he does not figure in new boss Joey Barton’s plans.
The 31-year-old joined Fleetwood in the January transfer window after leaving Plymouth Argyle, as former Fleetwood boss Uwe Rosler was keen to be reunited with Diagouraga having worked with him during his time in charge of Brentford.
The all-action midfielder made 17 appearances for Fleetwood last season, scoring one goal as he helped them avoid relegation from League One.
However, Barton has come in and assessed the squad at Fleetwood and he is happy to let Diagouraga go as he is well down the pecking order in his midfield plans.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in former Leeds midfielder Diagouraga, but Swindon have moved to try to bring him to the County Ground.
Diagouraga boasts a wealth of experience having made over 450 first-team appearances in his career to date, and Swindon boss Phil Brown feels he will be a valuable addition to his plans as he looks to build a side capable of challenging for promotion from League Two next season.
