HITC Sport understands Swansea are ready to battle rivals Cardiff for Derby’s Tom Huddlestone.

Swansea City are considering challengeing bitter rivals Cardiff City for Derby midfielder Tom Huddlestone, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Cardiff have shown an interest in former England international Huddlestone as Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock looks to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
Warnock has made midfield reinforcements one of his top priorities before the start of the season and Huddlestone has emerged on his radar.
However, Cardiff could face competition from Welsh rivals Swansea for Huddlestone as they are also looking to add to their midfield options.

Huddlestone would fit the bill to the type of player new Swansea boss Graham Potter is looking to add to his squad as he is comfortable on the ball and his passing range would complement his brand of football.
The 31-year-old only joined Derby from Hull City last summer and he made 47 appearances for the Rams in all competitions last season as they reached the play-off semi-finals only to lose to eventual winners Fulham.
Derby are reluctant to lose Huddlestone, but Frank Lampard could consider cashing in on the midfielder as he looks to trim his squad and bring in some money after a busy summer of spending at Pride Park.
