Stoke City goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard has agreed a deal to join Wigan Athletic on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Haugaard has found his first-team opportunities limited this season, with his only appearance coming in the Checkatrade Trophy, and Wigan have been alerted to his availability.
Wigan boss Warren Joyce has been searching for a new goalkeeper since he took over at the club after losing Liverpool loanee Adam Bogdan to injury.

Joyce was hoping to sign Manchester United shot-stopper Sam Johnstone, but was beaten to his signature by Championship rivals Aston Villa and then turned his attention to Danish keeper Haugaard.
Haugaard joined Stoke in the summer of 2015. The 24-year-old made five appearances in the Premier League at the back end of last season after Jack Butland suffered injury, but Stoke boss Mark Hughes feels he would benefit from a spell out on loan with Lee Grant and Shay Given ahead of him in the pecking order.
Wigan are currently 23rd in the Championship, with 19 points from 25 matches. Wigan haven’t won in the league since a late November victory over Huddersfield.
