HITC Sport understands Reading boss could be facing the sack.

Reading boss Jaap Stam is on the verge of losing his job following the 2-0 home defeat to Millwall, HITC Sport understands.
The disappointing defeat to Millwall was Reading’s 14th defeat of the season and leaves them languishing in 18th spot in the table, just six points above the relegation zone.
Stam’s future has been the subject of conjecture for several weeks as a result of Reading’s slump in form which has seen them drop alarmingly close to the Championship drop zone.

Reading have won just one of their last ten Championship games and crashed out of the FA Cup last month after a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
The Royals have won just three league games at home all season and picked up eight victories from their 30 Championship outings this term.
The pressure has been growing on Stam and HITC Sport understands the Reading board are considering Stam’s future.
The former Manchester United and Netherlands defender has been unable to repeat the success of last season in his first season in charge of Reading when led the Royals to last season’s Championship play-off final, only to lose on penalties to Huddersfield.
