HITC Sport understands Southampton are among several clubs eyeing Hull starlet.
Will Mannion of Hull City in action
Southampton are among several Premier League clubs chasing highly-rated Hull City goalkeeper Will Mannion, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Mannion has caught the eye at Hull since joining the club from AFC Wimbledon last summer.
The 19-year-old was a regular for Hull’s Under-23’s side last season helping them reach the Premier League Cup final and he was also third-choice goalkeeper for the first-team in January following the departures of Dusan Kuciak and Allan McGregor.
Mannion has yet to make his first-team debut for Hull, but the club have high hopes for the athletic shot-stopper.
Hull fans
Hull were ordered to £425,000 in compensation to AFC Wmbledon for Mannion after a tribunal last month.
The Tigers know they face a fight to keep hold of their best players following their relegation from the Premier League and they are bracing themselves for offers for Mannion.
Southampton have been monitoring his progress for some time and they see Mannion as a potential star in the making and they could step up their interest in the keeper to steal a march on their Premier League rivals.
