HITC Sport understands Sheffield United are in talks to sign former Huddersfield defender Martin Cranie.

Sheffield United are eyeing a move for free agent Martin Cranie as Chris Wilder looks to strengthen his squad, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Cranie is available on a free transfer after leaving Middlesbrough at the end of last season.
The 31-year-old has been training with West Bromwich Albion this summer and featured for them in pre-season.
West Brom were keen to offer the experienced defender a deal at the Hawthorns, but were waiting for players to leave before doing the deal.
That has allowed other interested parties to make a move for Cranie and Sheffield United are now ready to offer the versatile player the chance to move to Bramall Lane.

Cranie, who can play anywhere across the backline, will provide valuable experience to the Sheffield United defence as they look to make a push for promotion back to the Premier League.
The former England Under-21 international has made over 350 appearances in his career during spells at Southampton, Portsmouth Coventry City, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Middlesbrough.
