Former Liverpool striker David Ngog is training with Scottish Premiership side Ross County, as he looks to try to win a move to the club, HITC Sport understands.

Ngog is currently a free agent after leaving Greek club Panionios last summer and he is looking to get his career back on track.

Ross County boss Owen Coyle is ready to offer Ngog a chance to return to the UK by inviting the Frenchman to train with the Dingwall outfit.

Coyle knows all about Ngog, having signed him from Liverpool when he was in charge of Bolton Wanderers.

Ngog joined Bolton in the summer of 2011 in a deal believed to be worth £4million, after spending three years at Liverpool.

The striker only scored three goals in 33 Premier League appearances for Bolton before a short loan spell at Swansea in 2014, where he made only three appearances.

Ngog returned to his native France with Reims in 2014 and then he joined Panionios in 2016, but his time in Greece only lasted one year.

Still only 28, Ngog wants to rebuild his career and he is hoping to do enough to earn a deal at Ross County.

Ross are rooted to the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table and Coyle is keen to bring in new faces to try to lift them clear of trouble.
