Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Dave Edwards is poised to join Reading, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
The two clubs are in advanced talks over a £1million deal for the Wales international with Reading hopeful of concluding the move over the weekend.
Edwards has dropped down the pecking order at Wolves this season following the arrival of new head coach Nuno Santo.
The 31-year-old has not started a game in the Championship so far this term with his only two starts coming in the League Cup.
Edwards scored 10 goals for Wolves last season, but they are happy to sell him following an influx of new signings at Molineux this summer.
Edwards has made more than 300 appearances for Wolves since he first moved to Molineux in 2008 from Luton Town.
Reading boss Jaap Stam has been looking for a new midfielder before the close of the transfer window and it looks like he has got his man in Edwards.
Edwards will become Reading’s sixth signing of the summer and their second from Wolves following the arrival of Icelandic striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson with the midfielder set to sign a three-year deal at the Madejski Stadium.
