A number of League One and League Two clubs are chasing Bristol City winger Jonny Smith on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Smith spent last season on loan at National League side Fylde and he caught the eye during his spell at the club.

The 20-year-old scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 48 games for Fylde and his performances have alerted a number of clubs to his talents.

Bristol City are ready to loan out the skilful attacker again this summer, as he is well down the pecking order at Ashton Gate.

Lee Johnson, manager of Bristol City looks on before the Sky Bet Championship match between Fulham and Bristol City at Craven Cottage on October 31, 2017 in London, England.

Smith, who joined Bristol City in May 2016 from Wrexham, has yet to make his first-team debut for the Robins having spent time on loan at Cheltenham and Fylde, but he is highly-regarded by Bristol City boss Lee Johnson.

Johnson feels Smith would benefit by going out on loan again next season to a Football League club to continue his development before coming back to challenge for a first-team spot at Ashton Gate.

Members of both sides line up for the handshakes during the Sky Bet Championship match between Bristol City and Norwich City at Ashton Gate on January 13, 2018 in Bristol, England.

League One club AFC Wimbledon and League Two trio Oldham Athletic, Cambridge United and Bury have all expressed an interest in taking the exciting wide man on loan next season as they look to strengthen their squads.
