Queens Park Rangers are lining up a loan move for Brighton & Hove Albion winger Kazenga LuaLua, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

LuaLua has found his starting opportunities in Chris Hughton’s first XI limited so far this season, with Anthony Knockaert and Jiri Skalak his preferred options out wide.

LuaLua has made two starts in the EFL Cup so far this season, scoring in the 4-2 win over Oxford, but 25-year-old has found himself playing a cameo role off the bench in his three Championship appearances to date.

With Solly March due back from injury soon LuaLua could find his first-team chances further limited and QPR are keeping tabs on his situation at the Amex Stadium.

QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is looking to bolster his attacking options before the close of the transfer window and he sees LuaLua as someone who can fill the void left by Matt Phillips’ departure to West Bromwich Albion earlier in the summer.

LuaLua joined Brighton from Newcastle in November 2011, following three separate loan spells with the Seagulls.

The DR Congo-born player has scored 18 goals in 144 appearances for the south coast club.
