HITC Sport understands Hibernian are poised to sign long-term target Daryl Horgan from Preston.
Preston North End’s Daryl Horgan.
Preston North End winger Daryl Horgan has agreed a deal to join Hibernian, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Hibs have been chasing Horgan’s signature all summer, but looked like missing out on the Republic of Ireland international after the deal stalled.
However, Neil Lennon’s side have managed to reach a compromise with Preston and Horgan, and the attacker is set to make the move to Easter Road.
Horgan struggled to hold down a regular spot in Alex Neil’s Preston side last season, starting only five games with another 18 appearances off the bench.
The 26-year-old came off the bench during last weekend’s opening Championship win over Queens Park Rangers.

Preston are now willing to let Horgan move on after bringing in Brandon Barker on loan from Manchester City last week
Hibs are ironically in the marker for a winger after Barker’s loan spell at Hibs ended last season, and Horgan will help fill the void.
Horgan joined Preston in January 2017 from Dundalk and he has made 44 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and providing five assists for the Lilywhites.
