HITC Sport understands Preston are closing in on Barnsley midfielder Brad Potts.

Preston North End are in talks to sign Barnsley midfielder Brad Potts as they continue their busy spending spree in this month’s transfer window, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Preston have made two new signings already this month in the shape of Josh Ginnelly from Walsall and Exeter striker Jayden Stockley, and they are now hoping to make Potts their third new arrival.
Potts has impressed at Barnsley since joining the club from Blackpool in the summer of 2017.
The all-action midfielder was one of Barnsley’s shining lights in a disappointing campaign last term, making 41 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals and providing three assists as the Tykes suffered relegation from the Championship.

Potts, who was the subject of interest in the summer transfer window, has continued to shine this season with seven goals and seven assists in 26 games in all competitions for Barnsley.
Barnsley are reluctant to lose Potts this month as they look to maintain their push for promotion this season, but Preston are hoping the chance to play again in the Championship will help them land the former England youth international.
