Preston North End are eyeing a move for Bolton Wanderers striker Gary Madine before Thursday’s transfer deadline, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Preston are looking to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window shuts and have identified Madine as one of their targets.
Madine has impressed at Bolton since joining the club in 2015 from Sheffield Wednesday.

The 27-year-old played a key role in helping Bolton win promotion back to the Championship last season, scoring 10 goals for the Trotters.
Madine has scored two goals in six appearances so far this season and over the years he has proved a real handful for opposition defences due to his strength in the air.
Bolton will be reluctant to lose Madine as the former Carlisle man has established himself as a key man in Phil Parkinson’s side.

News of Preston’s interest in Madine is sure to increase speculation over the future of Jordan Hugill at Deepdale.
Preston have turned down an £8million bid from Reading for Hugill and have also rejected a transfer request from the player, but should they cash-in on Hugill, Madine may be one option.
