Everton and West Ham United risk missing out on Auxerre midfielder Brahim Konate after Standard Liege bid for the midfielder, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Konate has been on the radar for a number of English clubs after impressing for club and country during the last 18 months.
Everton and West Ham scouts have been keeping a regular check on the France Under-20 international’s progress at Auxerre as they weigh up moves for Konate.

Konate has made 16 appearances for Auxerre so far this season and the defensive midfielder is regarded as one of the best young talents coming through in France.
The 20-year-old is in the final 18 months of his contract at Auxerre and the Ligue 2 club are facing a battle to keep hold of him during this month’s transfer window.
Belgian side Standard Liege have tried to steal a march on their rivals for Konate by firming up their interest in the player with a bid of €1.5million.
Auxerre have yet to respond to the offer from Standard Liege and they are bracing themselves for more interest in Konate before the end of the month.
