HITC Sport understands Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of new goalkeeper.

Crystal Palace are leading the race ahead of Watford to sign Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, HITC Sport understands.
The Premier League duo are battling it out to sign Guaita in this month’s transfer window as they look to bolster their goalkeeping options.
Palace boss Roy Hodgson is keen to bring in a new No.1 keeper as he has not been convinced by either Julian Speroni or Wayne Hennessey since taking over at Selhurst Park.
Watford are also searching for a goalkeeper as they look for a long-term replacement for current No.1 Heurelho Gomes.

Guaita’s contract at Getafe expires in the summer and the La Liga club would prefer to sell him now rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
Guaita is interested in a move to the Premier League and HITC Sport understands that Palace have now jumped to favourites to secure the 31-year-old’s signature.
It is understood that Guaita’s agent is currently in the UK to talk to Palace and try and sort out his potential move to Selhurst Park.
