HITC Sport understands Oxford are closing in on former Bolton midfielder Jem Karacan.

Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Jem Karacan is in talks with Oxford United over a possible move to the Kassam Stadium, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Karacan is a free agent this summer after leaving Bolton at the end of last season when his contract expired.
Karacan joined Bolton in March 2017 and helped them win promotion from League One to the Championship.
The former Turkey Under-21 international scored two goals in 23 appearances for Bolton during his time at the club.
A number of teams have shown an interest in signing Karacan on a free transfer, but Oxford have moved quickly and are hopeful of bringing the all-action midfielder to the Kassam Stadium.

Oxford boss Karl Robinson has been busy in this summer’s transfer window as he looks to reshape his squad following a disappointing campaign last season, and he sees Karacan as a key addition to his plans for the new campaign as he looks to mount a bid for promotion.
Karacan started his career at Reading before joining Galatasaray as well as having loan spells with Bournemouth, Millwall and Bursaspor.
