HITC Sport understands Fleetwood forward set for Oldham return.

Fleetwood Town striker Aaron Holloway is set to rejoin former club Oldham Athletic on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Fleetwood signed Holloway last summer on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Wycombe Wanderers beating a number of clubs to his signature.

Holloway was signed by former Fleetwood boss Steven Pressley, but he failed to play for the Scot after he resigned before the start of the season and was replaced by Uwe Rosler.

Holloway has struggled to establish himself in Rosler’s plans with the 23-year-old making just four starts in his 10 appearances for Fleetwood so far this season.

Rosler is happy to loan out Holloway for the second half of the campaign as he is down the pecking order at Highbury.

A number of sides have expressed an interest in taking Holloway on loan, but the striker’s former club Oldham are poised to bring the player back to Boundary Park.

Holloway ended last season on loan at Oldham scoring two goals in ten appearances to help the club steer clear of relegation trouble in League One.

Oldham are currently rock bottom of League One and are in desperate need of reinforcements as they look to try and secure survival in the second half of the season.
