Norwich City have made a bid for Rangers midfielder Jamie Barjonas, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Barjonas has come through the ranks at Rangers and he broke into the first-team at the back end of last season.

The 18-year-old made his first-team debut against Partick Thistle in May and went on to make three further first-team appearances at the end of last term.

Barjonas is highly regarded within the corridors of power at Rangers and has represented Scotland at under-15, under-16 and under-17 level.

The midfielder’s performances for Rangers have not gone unnoticed among rival clubs in England and Norwich have been keeping tabs on his progress for some time.

Norwich are now hoping to lure Barjonas to Carrow Road and have tabled a bid to test Rangers’ resolve to hang on to the teenager.

New Norwich boss Daniel Farke is keen to rebuild the side at Carrow Road and Barjonas would fit the bill as one of the young, talented players he wants to bring to the club.

Barjonas is in the final year of his contract at Rangers and the Scottish giants could face a major battle to keep hold of the midfielder this summer.
