Norwich City have agreed a deal to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes on a season-long loan deal, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

The two Championship clubs have been locked in talks over a move for Rhodes for several weeks, but both sides were struggling to agree terms.

However, a compromise has now been finally reached to see Rhodes spend next season at Carrow Road.

HITC Sport understands Rhodes has travelled to East Anglia to hold talks and undergo a medical at Norwich.

Rhodes is out of favour at Wednesday and the Owls are willing to let him move on to free up space in their squad.

The Scotland international has struggled to make an impact at Wednesday since joining the club from Middlesbrough in February 2017.

Rhodes made only 17 Championship starts and 14 substitute appearances last season and his first-team opportunities were set to be limited at Hillsborough next season.

Norwich are looking to bolster their attacking options after selling James Maddison and Josh Murphy to Leicester City and Cardiff City respectively this summer.

Rhodes is set to become Norwich’s sixth and biggest signing of the summer as they look to improve on last season’s showing in the Championship.
