HITC Sport understands former QPR youngster Michael Petrasso could be set for a return to the UK from Montreal Impact.
Former Queens Park Rangers winger Michael Petrasso is a target for a number of Football League clubs on loan after being told he can leave by Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Petrasso, who can play as a winger or at right-back, joined Montreal Impact last January after spending six years at Queens Park Rangers.
The 23-year-old struggled to hold down a regular place in the QPR side during his time at Loftus Road with the versatile performer being sent out on loan at the likes of Oldham Athletic, Notts County, Coventry City and Leyton Orient.
Petrasso has made 14 appearances for Montreal Impact since his arrival at the club, but the arrival of former Manchester City and Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has pushed him down the pecking order at the MLS side.
Canadian international Petrasso was not in the Montreal Impact squad for last week’s clash with Chicago Fire and the Impact are willing to let him go out on loan to get regular first-team football.
Petrasso is understood to be open to the idea of returning to England on loan and a number of Championship and League One clubs have expressed an interest in taking him on a temporary basis.
