HITC Sport understands Middlesbrough have bid for Millwall duo George Saville and Jed Wallace.

Middlesbrough are trying to beat the transfer deadline to land Millwall midfield pair George Saville and Jed Wallace, HITC Sport understands.
Boro boss Tony Pulis is determined to bolster his squad before the transfer window shuts and he has money to spend following the sales of Ben Gibson, Patrick Bamford and Adama Traore.
Saville and Wallace caught the eye of Pulis during last weekend’s 2-2 draw between the two clubs on the opening day of the Championship season.
Northern Ireland international Saville has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Championship since joining the club in 2017 from Wolves and was linked with moves to Leeds and Aston Villa earlier this summer.

Wallace has also impressed for Neil Harris’s side since joining the club on a permanent basis last summer also from Wolves.
The midfield pair were instrumental in Millwall’s impressive form last season as they just narrowly missed out on reaching the play-offs last term.
Millwall are reluctant to lose the key duo and are understood to have rejected the double bid from Middlesbrough.
It remains to be seen if Middlesbrough will come back with improved offers for the pair before the transfer window shuts.
