Liverpool are one of several Premier League clubs tracking highly-rated Villarreal teenage defender Adrian Corral, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Corral has come through the ranks at Villarreal and he is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects to emerge from El Madrigal in recent years.

The left-sided centre-back has represented Spain at Under-16 level and he has impressed for Villarreal’s youth sides over the last 18 months.

Corral’s performances and potential have brought him onto the radar of a number of top clubs across Europe, including Liverpool.

Liverpool scouts have watched Corral in action for several months as they weigh up a move for the talented teenager.

However, they are aware of the growing competition for Corral’s signature with several Premier League rivals and clubs from Spain and Italy keeping tabs on the 16-year-old.

Premier League clubs have enjoyed massive success in signing some of the best young talents across Europe and developing them into future stars and Corral is seen as a potential star in the making.

Villarreal are reluctant to lose one of their most prized assets, but they are bracing themselves for offers for Corral from his Premier League suitors in the New Year when the transfer window reopens.
