Leeds United starlet Tom Pearce agrees new deal

HITC Sport understands Leeds United have offered the youngster a new deal.

Leeds United youngster Tom Pearce has agreed a new deal to keep him at Elland Road, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Pearce signed his first professional contract with the club last summer and with the deal due to expire this summer the club have moved to secure him on a new deal.

Leeds are keen to keep hold of their best young players as they look to build a side capable of challenging for promotion next season and Pearce is in the club’s long-term plans.

The 19-year-old joined Leeds from Everton in 2014 and has impressed for the club’s academy since his arrival in Yorkshire.

Pearce, a left-footer who is equally as comfortable playing at full-back or on the wing, is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at Elland Road.

Pearce has yet to make his first-team debut for Leeds, but he has been on the fringes of the first-team after impressing for the club’s Under-18s and Under-23s during the last couple of seasons.

Leeds have high hopes for Pearce that he could be the next academy product to break into the first-team picture and the youngster will be hoping to impress new Whites boss Thomas Christiansen during pre-season.
