HITC Sport understands Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Bournemouth midfielder Eunan O’Kane, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Leeds have been chasing the Republic of Ireland international for several weeks and saw a couple of offers rejected by Bournemouth for O’Kane.

However, Leeds boss Garry Monk has been determined to land O’Kane and the club have come back with an improved offer on transfer deadline day which has been accepted by the Cherries.

Bournemouth have been willing to listen to offers for O’Kane this summer with the midfielder entering the final year of his contract at Dean Court.

O’Kane, who has been at Bournemouth since 2012, struggled to hold down a regular place in Eddie Howe’s side last season, making only six starts in the Premier League with most of his other appearances either coming off the bench or in cup competitions.

The 26-year-old has not figured for Bournemouth so far this season and with the Cherries on the verge of signing Jack Wilshere on loan from Arsenal the south coast club are willing to let him move on.

Leeds have moved for O’Kane as Monk looks to bolster his midfield options after making Toumani Diagouraga and Luke Murphy available for transfer.
