HITC Sport understands a number of League One clubs are chasing Bury midfielder Dawson.
Bradford City, Charlton Athletic, Shrewsbury Town and Gillingham are eyeing moves for Bury midfielder Stephen Dawson, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Dawson, who rejoined former club Bury last summer, still has two years to run on his deal at Gigg Lane, but he has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave on a free as a result of their relegation.

Bury suffered relegation from League One last season and Dawson could now activate that clause with suitors waiting in the wings.
The news has alerted a host of League One clubs to his availability on a free transfer and the likes of Bradford, Charlton, Shrewsbury and Gillingham have all made enquiries about the Irishman.

Dawson made 14 appearances in all competitions for Bury last season and his influence was missed as they endured a miserable season and campaign relegation to League Two.
The midfielder’s suitors see Dawson as a valuable addition to their plans due to his experience and know-how, with the former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Dawson boasting a wealth of experience.
He has made over 450 first-team appearances in his career to date during spells at Mansfield Town, Barnsley, Scunthorpe, Leyton Orient, Rochdale and Bury.
