HITC Sport understands Wigan forward Callum Lang has agreed a new deal at the club and will join Oldham on loan.

Highly-rated Wigan Athletic forward Callum Lang has signed a new deal at the club and has been sent out on loan to Oldham Athletic, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Wigan have been locked in talks with Lang over a new deal all summer as they look to fend off growing interest in the forward.
Lang caught the eye on loan at League Two Morecambe last season where he scored 10 goals in 30 appearances for the club and finished second behind Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon as the top-scoring teenager in England.
A number of clubs higher up the football pyramid have been keeping tabs on Lang’s situation at the DW Stadium, but Wigan have now managed to secure his long-term future on a new contract.

Lang is down the pecking order in Paul Cook’s first-team plans this season and the club feel he would benefit by going out on loan again to get regular first-team action under his belt.
A number of League One and League Two clubs have expressed an interest in Lang, but Oldham have moved to agree a deal for the 19-year-old.
Lang started his career with Liverpool’s academy before joining Wigan in 2013 and he has made three first-team appearances for the League One champions.
